Where are your singing bowls made?
Our bowls are made by local artisans in Nepal.
What are your singing bowls made of?
All singing bowls are comprised of metal alloy, locally sourced from the Himalayas. We do not use lead in our bowls.
Why are your gold coloured bowls more expensive than the others?
The gold colour bowl is more expensive than the brown and bronze bowls because it is crafted with a different type of metal alloy. As you can imagine, this alloy is more expensive than the metal alloy used for making brown and bronze bowls. Also, it is more expensive because it is created solely by the hand hammering process: heating the metal alloy and hand hammering it, moulding it into the shape of a bowl - the traditional way of producing singing bowls thousands of years ago.
What comes in a singing bowl set?
Currently, all of our singing bowls come as a set. The set includes an exclusively-designed striker used to play the bowl, and a small pillow to sit the bowl on top of.
Can I choose the color of my pillow?
The color of the pillow is usually chosen at random. However, you’re welcome to order a custom singing bowl set. Custom orders can choose the size of their singing bowl, the color of their pillow, and the striker style they most prefer.
Are your products ethically sourced?
All our products are indeed ethically sourced. Every effort has been made to ensure minimum impact on the environment. Furthermore, we work to ensure each and every worker is of age, is fairly treated (they are all friends of ours!), and that every step of production is sustainable.
Each purchase actually helps the locals in Nepal as they continue to recover from the earthquake that devastated the nation years ago. In fact, we have much bigger plans to fortify the sustainability of their hard work. Still, we do not typically share that information in our marketing campaigns, because we want the products to speak for themselves. We do not feel it is right to gain on someone else's misfortune. We want to help, and all of our customers are a great help as well, albeit unknowingly.
What note will my bowl play when struck and when resonating?
Our machine-handmade bowls have a range of different notes; they are not specifically tuned to a certain note. Some of these bowls will ring out B, F, G, and E notes. However, most of our hand-hammered bowls are tuned to B. Being 100% handmade, the notes (and even the sizes) can differ from bowl to bowl.
Is it best to get a singing bowl that corresponds to each chakra for chakra healing?
Ideally, yes. All seven primary chakras are known to respond to different sound frequencies. For very specific practices, such as chakra healing, the practitioner would need exact notes from their singing bowl.
Our singing bowls are mainly designed for meditation purposes. Apart from our Hand Hammered B Crown Chakra Tibetan Singing Bowl Set, which is designed to influence the Crown chakra, our machine-handmade singing bowls, like the Antique Design and the Om Mani Padme Hum bowls, have a range of different notes. Some of these bowls are tuned to B, F, G, and some in E.
